Moneygal Forest
Moneygal is a 325 hectare coniferous and open habitat forest north west of Castlderg, on the border with Donegal.
Activities
There are no facilities for recreational activities. The public are welcome to visit this forest on foot.
There may be restrictions on access to parts of the forest from time to time due to forest operations. Pay attention to safety signage.
About this forest
This is a mainly coniferous forest managed for commercial timber production. There is an active, raised bog which is a special area of conservation in this forest.
There is no public car park. Visitors must not block access for forestry vehicles by parking at the gateways.
How to get there
From Castlederg, travel north west along the Kilclean Road for about two miles. Turn left on the Moneygal Road. The forest is two miles along this road.
