Crown copyright protects material which is produced by employees of the Crown whilst carrying out their duties. Crown employees include civil servants, ministers and those who are employed by government departments and agencies.

  • Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland branded material such as mapping and aerial photography
  • government reports and forms
  • official press releases
  • many public records
