How nidirect use cookies

The nidirect site and some of the tools and services it links to use a number of cookies. These cookies are listed below with more details about why we use them and how long they will last.

Measuring website performance and usage

We use Google Analytics and New Relic to collect anonymous information about how people use nidirect and how well it is performing. We do this to make sure it’s meeting people's needs and to understand how we could meet those needs better.

We do not allow Google or New Relic to use or share the data about how you use nidirect. We do not collect or store your personal details such as your name or address. We cannot identify who you are.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got here and what you click on.

New Relic

Cookies set by third party services

We use YouTube and Vimeo to show videos on some nidirect pages. YouTube and Vimeo may set cookies immediately when you visit one of these pages or may set cookies when you press buttons that control the video.

YouTube

YouTube is a service from Google. Google sets a number of cookies on your device. The number of cookies that are set and their purpose varies depending on whether you have agreed to accept cookies in Google's cookie policy. You can set your cookie preferences for all Google services by visiting Google's privacy tools.

Vimeo

Cookies set by nidirect services

nidirect services are run by different Northern Ireland government departments and their agencies. For example, the service for booking your MOT test is provided by the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA).
