New Style Jobseeker’s Allowance is for people who have lost their employment, are actively seeking work and have paid enough National Insurance Contributions usually in the two full tax years before the claim.

Before you start
To apply you will need:
- your National Insurance number
- bank or building society account details (or those of a family member or trusted friend)
- details of your employment for the past six months including employer contact details and dates you worked with them
- private pension or annuity statement if you get, or could get, payments from one — you do not need to report one you've inherited from someone who died
