    Safety on public transport

    There are steps you should take to make sure you have a safer journey on public transport, particularly if you are travelling at night or on your own.

    The Police Service for Northern Ireland (PSNI) is responsible for investigating all road traffic accidents.

    Rail accidents

    The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) is responsible for investigating accidents or incidents on UK railways, including Northern Ireland.

    It's an independent body that investigates to improve safety.

    Taxis

    Never use an unlicensed taxi.

    Do not use a taxi if the vehicle is not displaying the proper taxi licence signs or plates or the vehicle is in a state of disrepair.
