Apply for a bus vehicle licence
Anyone applying or renewing a bus vehicle licence (BVL) or wanting to make changes to an existing licence must do so online. Paper applications are no longer accepted.

Due to the restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, a number of DVA services are currently unavailable.

You should apply for your BVL at least six weeks before you wish to start using the vehicle on the road, to allow time for the application to be processed and the vehicle tested so that it can be added to your bus operator licence.
