Ukrainian cash support scheme

If you've arrived in Northern Ireland under the Homes for Ukraine or Ukraine Family Scheme, or staying here under the Ukraine Extension Scheme, you can get a one-off £200 payment to help buy things you need, like food, clothes and toiletries, until you can work or get benefits.

Cash support payment

This is a one-off £200 payment that you do not need to pay back. Your payment is to pay for essentials when you arrive in this country. You should not be asked to pay for rent.

If you have already claimed your £200 payment at one of the Assistance Centres or online, you will not be entitled to another payment.

Documents you need to provide

To apply, you will need to upload a digital copy, screenshot or photograph showing the following:

  • one form of identification
  • proof of Visa application

The following forms of Identification (ID) are accepted:

  • biometric residence permit card
  • passport
  • Ukraine ID

For children who do not have a passport, you will need to provide a birth certificate or if a child has travelled on a parent’s passport, a copy of that passport.

Proof of Visa application includes:

  • Home Office Permission to Travel letter
  • Leave to Enter letter
  • UK visa vignette
  • Biometric Residence Permit card number
  • GWF number from Visa application

How to claim your support payment

Apply for your £200 payment here:

  •  Apply for the Ukrainian Cash Support Scheme

If your application is approved, you should receive confirmation by email within three working days.

Your email will include a one-time ‘Post Office Payout Now voucher code’ which you can take to your local Post Office to cash.

You can cash your voucher at any Post Office in Northern Ireland.

Parents need to collect vouchers on behalf of any child under 18 years old. You must bring the child with you to the Post Office to cash your voucher.

How to cash your Payout Now voucher code

To exchange your voucher for cash, take your mobile device or a printed copy of the email containing your unique barcode and photographic identification to your nearest Post Office.

If you want someone to collect your payments on your behalf, make sure it is someone you trust. They will need to bring your email voucher as well as your ID with them.

Show your email and ID at a Post Office counter. Once the barcode has been scanned you will be told of the voucher amount available to you.

Your barcode is valid for 28 days from the date of the email. After this time, it will run out and you will not be able to cash your voucher. Multiple vouchers can be cashed during the same visit in the same Post Office.

You can cash your vouchers in any Post Office branch.  You will not be able to cash your vouchers at an ATM. It is your responsibility to keep the cash that you receive in a safe place.
