Autumn in the Archives
The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland is hosting a Halloween themed event, 'Autumn in the Archives' on Saturday 4 October. This event will include a tour and creative workshops to mark the start of 'spooky season' at PRONI.
3D Needle-Felting Workshop - 11.00am - 1.30pm
Join artist and designer, Lorna Gough, to create a 3D pumpkin. Using 3D needle felting techniques, this workshop will include a demonstration as well as guidance from Lorna on how to successfully create a 3D pumpkin using a polystyrene ball and needle felting.

Pumpkin Painting at PRONI - 11.30am - 1.30pm
A hands-on pumpkin painting workshop inspired by archival treasures. In this workshop, the group will use images from the archive as inspiration for pumpkin painting. The workshop will include a brief introduction to the archives, the story of the archival images, and some social, hands-on pumpkin painting and decorating based on what images have sparked inspiration.

Spooky Tour of the Archives - 12.00pm - 1.30pm
This guided tour will include stops at PRONI's Search Room, Reading Room, Stores and Reprographics Studio, as well as hearing some spooky tales about the archives! Additionally, PRONI staff members will be available to advise users on how to search for records at PRONI and there will be the opportunity to view some Halloween-related historical documents in the Reading Room.
