Adaptations to a Housing Executive property

Sometimes the Housing Executive (NIHE) needs to make improvements or alterations to a property to suit the needs of the people who live there. To accommodate someone with a disability, a house might need minor or major adaptations.

Minor adaptations which don't need a referral

The Housing Executive is responsible for doing certain minor adaptations which don't need to be referred to an occupational therapist.

Minor adaptations which need a referral

Some minor adaptations need referral to an occupational therapist. They need to assess your needs and recommend adaptations.

Major adaptations

The Housing Executive is responsible for doing certain major adaptations to tenants' homes.

Change of heating
