Following the announcement by Buckingham Palace of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, you can get information and guidance below for the period of national mourning, up to and including the day of the state funeral on Monday 19 September.

National moment of reflection

A National Moment of Reflection, to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and reflect on her life and legacy, will take place at 8.00 pm on Sunday 18 September.

To mark the state funeral of Her Majesty The Queen, the Belfast Ukraine assistance centre will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022.

All schools in Northern Ireland have been granted an Exceptional Closure Day on Monday 19 September 2022.

It is expected that schools should close for this Bank Holiday to mark Her Majesty The Queen ’s state funeral.

To mark the state funeral of Her Majesty The Queen, all further and higher education colleges in Northern Ireland will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022.
