Welding Academy – Southern Regional College
If you’re interested in a career as a welder, 10 training opportunities are currently available at Southern Regional College (SRC). If you successfully complete the academy, you will gain an industry recognised welding qualification and be considered for a potential job role with one of the supporting companies.
Training
The welding academy is a six-week intensive training course to prepare you for a job role in the engineering and manufacturing sector under the Assured Skills Programme.
Those selected for the academy will study core industry competencies which have been mapped to the City and Guilds Level 2 MIG Welding qualification.
If you successfully finish the course, you will be guaranteed a job interview with a supporting company.
Participants will receive a £185 weekly training allowance for the duration of the academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare costs.
If you successfully complete the academy, you will be guaranteed a job interview with a supporting company. An interview is not a guarantee of a job. Offers of employment will be solely at the discretion of the companies following the interview.
