Ireland 1900 - 1925: Crisis, War and Revolution 'A' Level Resource

Ireland 1900 - 1925: Crisis, War and Revolution is a learning resource which provides access to archive material to support 'A' Level students studying some of the most significant events in Ireland’s modern history, from the introduction of the Third Home Rule Bill to the First World War, Easter Rising, partition of Ireland and creation of two new states.

PRONI has partnered with the University of Kent, in collaboration with the History Teachers’ Association NI (HTANI), to produce a forthcoming learning resource centred on contemporary documents from the PRONI archive.  The resource will reflect the A2 curriculum topic Partition of Ireland 1900-1925, and support study for the A2 paper on Historical Investigations and Interpretations.  With its emphasis on using primary source material, Ireland 1900-1925: Crisis, War and Revolution will offer an inclusive approach to history where many differing voices have a place.

The resource will include historical introductions to key themes by Dr Timothy Bowman, University of Kent, and provide access to a range of source material from the archives offering various perspectives from the time.  It will also include two sample questions and guidance on how to answer each, set by Jim McBride (HTANI).   Ireland 1900-1925: Crisis, War and Revolution is tailored to support 'A' Level study, but will be of interest to anyone exploring this period in our history.
