First World War guide

PRONI holds a range of records about the First World War, including letters, diaries and photographs.

PRONI holds a range of records about the First World War and to contemporary events in Ireland during the period 1912 to 1922, including

To mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War, PRONI will be involved in a number of events, projects and activities and working in partnership with organisations throughout the UK.  

First World War guide

PRONI has published its Guide to the Manuscript Sources for the Study of the First World War in PRONI.  This comprehensive document will help guide users to the wealth of papers, volumes, letters, images, and scrapbooks about the First World War which are held within the collections at PRONI.

Educational resources

BEd students from St. Mary's University College, Belfast, have used PRONI archives to produce learning resources aimed at Key Stage 3 students on the topics of Women in Wartime and Recruitment.  These resources are available in both English and Irish language.

Western Front Association Antrim and Down Branch

PRONI is pleased to host to the Western Front Association Antrim and Down branch for their meetings and public lectures.

Public Meetings and Lectures take place on various Thursday evenings at 6.30 pm. Have a look at talks and events at PRONI for more details.  Meetings are open to the public. Everyone welcome.
