Be ready as a community

This page provides information on how communities can plan for major incidents and emergencies.

Community emergency planning

A number of recent emergencies have shown how members of the community help each other before, during and after emergencies.

Some communities in Northern Ireland have already developed local community emergency plans to plan how they will work together to help each other in an emergency.

The Regional Community Resilience Group was formed to help communities to prepare for emergencies.  The group are currently working with communities across Northern Ireland to support them to develop community emergency plans and improve preparedness in their area.

If you would like to have a community emergency plan for your area you can use the template below to get started.
