    Apprenticeship week events

    During apprenticeship week, 2 to 6 February 2026, there will be a number of in-person and virtual events taking place. Events will be hosted by a range of stakeholders including local councils, employers, Further Education colleges, universities, private training providers and others.

    Events

    Through a series of in-person and virtual events, Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week will show the benefits of becoming an apprentice and how apprenticeships can transform the future for apprentices and businesses.

    Ulster University - Derry - Londonderry Apprenticeship Fair

    The Derry - Londonderry Degree Apprenticeship Fair will kick off NI Apprenticeship Week 2026. A full schedule of events has been planned, so applicants can learn more about the Degree Apprenticeships on offer. 

    At the event you can meet a number of employer partners and hear what it's like to apply for and succeed on a Degree Apprenticeship.

    Clanrye Group Apprenticeship Event

    Clanrye Group is holding an apprenticeship event showcasing the wide range of career pathways available through apprenticeship training. 

    Those who go to the event will have the chance to explore different industries, meet employers and get a clear understanding of the training, qualifications and support on offer through Clanrye Group. 

    The event will cover a wide range of apprenticeship areas including horticulture, warehousing and storage and retail and customer service. 

    At the event you can get:

    • a short presentation introducing the apprenticeship programme and current opportunities
    • an overview of apprenticeship areas
    • hands-on practical activities to allow attendees to experience aspects of the roles
    • meet-and-greet sessions with employers to discuss industry insights and job progression
    • information and support to apply for courses on the day

    Disability Action Online Apprenticeship Drop-in

    Disability Action is holding a lunchtime online drop-in during Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week 2026 to look at routes into apprenticeships and Skills for Life and Work. 

    Representatives from Disability Action will be available to answer questions on: 

    • how apprenticeships and Skills for Life and Work can work for disabled people
    • the support available through DA services including one-to-one guidance and advocacy
    • reasonable adjustments, workplace support and assistive technology
    • how to talk to training providers and employers about support needs

    At the event you can:

    • speak directly with advisers in a relaxed online setting
    • ask questions in a group question and answer session or through the chat facility
    • request a short one-to-one follow-up call after the session
    • live captioning will be enabled
    • request British Sign Language or other support if needed

    • get guidance on student finance, education support, careers and the online application process

    Employers from various industries will be at the event to give information on training and apprenticeship opportunities.

    If you study for a Higher Level Apprenticeship you will:

    Workplus Apprenticeship Clinic

    Workplus are holding an apprenticeship clinic event during Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week.

    During the online event, aspiring apprentices will:

    • learn how to make the most of their applications

    • get insight into what employers are looking for 

    The online workshop is open to anyone who wants to learn more about or advise others around the Workplus application process and what is on offer.

    NI Chamber of Commerce - Why recruit apprentices event

    NI Chamber of Commerce in partnership with NIE Networks are holding an event during Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week 2026.

    The Future Workforce event looks at why businesses should invest in and recruit apprentices. 

    Those at the event will:

    • hear from former apprentices who are now in senior leadership roles
    • hear about the impact that apprenticeships have had on their organisations
    • hear from current apprentices about their experiences including the learning, development and application process
    • hear about new research on the return on investment for businesses that employ apprentices

    Disability Action - Inclusive All-Ages Apprenticeship Event

    This is an online event for employers and training providers who want practical guidance on inclusive apprenticeships and Skills for Life and Work opportunities for disabled people. 

    The session will be informal and conversational, with time for discussion and looking at the next steps.

    The event will:

    • outline available support and how Disability Action works with employers and trainers
    • share good practice on inclusive recruitment and onboarding
    • explain reasonable adjustments for disabled apprentices and Skills for Life and Work participants
    • highlight available support from Disability Action and partner organisations
    • take questions from employers and providers

    North West Regional College - Springtown Apprenticeship Showcase

    This North West Regional College showcase event is aimed at prospective apprentices, their parents and prospective employers.

    Antrim and Newtonabbey Borough Council are holding a Careers and Apprenticeships Fair during Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week.

    The annual event is being hosted by the Antrim and Newtonabbey Labour Market Partnership in partnership with the Department for Communities.

    There will be more than 60 local employers and support organisations available at the event to give information on employment opportunities, apprentices and the available support.

    Disability Action - Inclusive Apprenticeships promotion event

    Disability Action are holding a Skills for Life and Work Inclusive Apprenticeships event during Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week.

    The event is aimed at bringing together apprenticeship training providers and local schools to highlight Skills for Work and Life and routes into apprenticeships for disabled people. 

    The event will also sow how Disability Action supports learners, schools, training providers and employers to plan accessible paths into work. 

    Those at the event will benefit from:

    • information stalls from the Disability Action team and invited partners
    • short talks from training providers on current opportunities and entry requirements
    • one-to-one conversations about next steps and support needs and referrals into services

    The event venue will be set up to provide an easy drop-in over lunchtime so people can call in when it suits them.

    Workplus - Apprenticeships: 'How to' Workshop for HR professionals

    Workplus are holding a workshop event for HR professionals about apprenticeships during Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week. 

    Apprenticeships are a great way to grow a team and are also a valuable source of talent. However, many employers don't know where to start.

    This workshop is ideal for employers who have not yet engaged in the apprenticeship process. It will also benefit employers who have taken on apprentices but who want to learn more about best practice.

    Those at the event can:

    • hear from a HR specialist about how to inform and equip HR professionals about apprenticeships
    • learn how to grow an apprenticeship culture in your organisation
