The Apprenticeships programme offers training to 16 year olds and over across a wide range of apprenticeships.
If your reading, writing, maths or ICT skills are stopping you from getting a job or you find it hard to read instructions, fill out forms or use ICT equipment, a free Essential Skills course may help.
If you’re aged 16 to 24 years old and not in work, the JobStart scheme offers job opportunities to help you improve your employment skills and potential to get a job or progress into further education or training.
Training for Success
Training for Success is designed for young people aged 16-18 (up to 24 years for those requiring additional support) and provides training to give the tools and skills needed to get a job.
Training will provide you with the relevant qualifications as well as the required personal and behavioural skills to progress into work.
Travel to Interview Scheme
The Travel to Interview Scheme is designed to help unemployed people with the cost of travelling to interviews for full-time permanent positions in Northern Ireland or elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
Applications should be made before your interview by completing a TIS 1 form, available from any Jobs and Benefits office.
Work experience programme
If you're unemployed, the Work Experience Programme can help you develop your employability skills and gain the experience you need to get a job.
