  • has financial stability and has been trading for a minimum of three years
  • is vetted
  • has premises and products fit for purpose
  • employs trained professionals to do the glass installation to the highest technical standards
  • complies with the GGF Consumer Code of Practice, which is approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) under their Consumer Codes Approval Scheme
  • safeguards your deposit and instalments of up to 50 per cent of the contract value or £12,500
  • offers transferrable warranties, in the event you sell your property

The GGF recommends that when finding a glazing professional to work at your home you should:

  • find the three GGF member companies nearest your home that provide the product or services you require
  •  ask each company for a written quotation
  • check the company you select is a current GGF member by searching the member directory on
  • read the contract and make sure you understand all terms and conditions
  •  ask the company about any guarantees and warranties for the products or services
  • check the cancellation terms
  • ask about any additional work or processes you may need to arrange
  • ask about any cooling off period or cancellation terms in case you change your mind
