Coronavirus (COVID-19): COVID certificate for NI residents
The Department of Health has introduced an automated method for NI citizens who have received both their COVID-19 vaccinations in Northern Ireland to apply for COVID vaccination certification. You should not make any travel arrangements without making sure you have a valid certificate.
Those travelling on 1 August can now register for an nidirect account at the green button below - this will help speed up the application process for a certificate.
The NI COVID Certification Service will email you directly on 31 July when the certification service and the COVIDCertNI app are available, so that you can download your certificate.
While the service is being made available, the NI COVID Certification Service will invite applications in a controlled and phased way, and will be strictly limited to the date highlighted.
The Department of Health insists that those travelling outside of the 1 August should not apply, or they will simply delay the full restoration of normal services.
COVID certificate - travelling 1 August
The COVIDCertNI App is available to download and will be working again on Saturday 31 July.

If you’re travelling abroad on 1 August you can now access a downloadable certificate and QR code. The certification will permit international travel (where certification is required).
You can register your identity at the link below:
Access your certificate
If you have received an email confirming your COVID-19 vaccination document is ready you can log in and access your certificate at this link:
Request a paper certificate
If you cannot apply online, you can request a paper version using the telephone service 0300 200 7814, available Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.
This is an application support line. Call handlers will not be able to provide advice on entry requirements to specific destinations or check the detail of your vaccination records.
This process will take longer than the digital process and you will be required to verify your identity in person by presenting documentation at an appointed time and location.
Once identity checks have been completed it may take up to 10 working days for the printed certificate to arrive.
Rules on travel
You must still adhere to the testing and isolation requirements (if appropriate) on your return to Northern Ireland and the latest travel advice for the country you’re travelling to. Further information on travel is available at:
