HGV road user levy
The heavy goods vehicle (HGV) levy makes sure all HGV’s 12 tonnes and over make a contribution when they are used on UK roads.
For non-UK vehicles, operators and drivers are responsible for payment of the levy. Failure to pre-pay the Levy may result in a £300 fine being taken at the roadside.
For UK registered vehicles, the levy is collected automatically by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).
