NI Cyber gateway aptitude programme
The NI Cyber Gateway Aptitude programme was a free online training programme designed to help people find out more about cyber security and provide the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills needed for a career in this fast-growing industry.
About the programme
This free training programme consisted of a variety of online challenges and mini games, called ‘labs’. Each lab focused on a different area of cyber security, to help candidates become more familiar with the industry.
The flexible, online training was carried out alone and could be completed at home and at the candidates' own pace.
The training was designed to help candidates find out if they had what it takes to succeed in cyber and give them the opportunity to learn and display the skills and knowledge needed to start a career in cyber.
This pilot programme closed on 30 April 2022.
To be eligible for the programme, applicants didn’t need experience in a tech or cyber role to get involved but had to:
- be aged 16 or over
- live in Northern Ireland
- have a GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
