Deactivated firearms
If you want to transfer ownership of a deactivated firearm you need to tell the Department of Justice (DoJ). Notifications apply to transactions which have taken place after 8 April 2016 and will be for more than 14 days.

To tell DoJ about your ownership of a deactivated firearm after 8 April 2016 read the guidance and complete the possession of a deactivated firearm form at:
Transfer of a deactivated firearm form
You need to tell DoJ about the transfer of a deactivated firearm to another person or organisation before the transfer takes place or as soon as possible after the transfer. You do not need to tell DoJ if the transfer is for a period of 14 days or less.

You could be fined £200 if you fail to tell DoJ that permanent ownership of a deactivated firearm has changed.
