This is a document summarising some of the most interesting and significant content within the Madden archive (D3465, MIC388, MIC441 and MIC594) held in PRONI.


The Madden papers comprise around 5000 documents and around 250 volumes, 1610 to 1935, mainly relating to the estates and political activities of the Madden family of Hilton Park, Clones, Co. Monaghan, but including some records of related families, for example, five volumes of naval records, around 1778 to 1801, deriving from Admirals Phillips Crosby and William Wolseley.
