Rail travel concessions
There are four different SmartPasses which offer discount for travel across Northern Ireland's trains. These include discounts for young people, senior citizens and war disabled.
SmartPasses must be presented when buying your ticket in order to claim a discount.
Free travel is available to all Senior Citizens who are 65 years of age or over and who have been resident in Northern Ireland for a minimum of three months.
If you are aged between 60 and 64 and you are a permanent resident of Northern Ireland, you are eligible for a 60 PlusSmartPass.
If you are registered blind with a Northern Ireland Health & Social Care Trust and you are a permanent resident of Northern Ireland, you are eligible for a Registered Blind SmartPass.
On presentation of your Half Fare SmartPass you are entitled to 50 per cent off the standard adult single fare on scheduled bus and rail services operating within Northern Ireland.
Persons under the age of 65 who receive a War Disabled pension and are also resident in Northern Ireland, can travel free of charge on any Translink bus or rail services within the Province.
