Stormont Estate
Stormont Estate is open to the public for recreational use. Find out here about access to the Estate, walking and fitness trails, the children's playground, events, the environment and the restaurant.
Access and directions
Stormont Estate is situated on the east side of Belfast, on the Upper Newtownards Road (A20). When travelling along the Upper Newtownards Road, the large entrance to the Estate can be seen on the left hand side of the road, approximately 5 miles from the city centre.

Walks and fitness trail
There are two recognised woodland walks within the public area. The long woodland walk is approximately 4000 metres in length, with the short walk approximately 2300 metres.
Plans are being put in place to extend the woodland walks to the north and east of Parliament Buildings

Children's playground
The children’s park is located near the Upper Newtownards Road entrance. Coming out of Belfast city centre, the car park is located approximately 100 metres past the main gates to Stormont Estate on the left hand side.
There are a wide variety of climbing frames, slides and swings available for children of all ages and a number of seats for parents to relax. There are also picnic tables and facilities for barbeques.
The park is fenced in and covered by CCTV cameras, which are linked up to the central security control room.
Events
A wide range of events take place, including sports competitions, family fun days and charity fundraising events. To view forthcoming events, follow the link below.
Restaurant
'Whistles' restaurant is situated in the Pavilion Complex, near Stormont Estate.
Pedestrians can access the Complex via the Stormont Estate grounds, although photographic identification is required to enter with a vehicle.
From 6 pm access is by the Upper Newtownards Road entrance. Coming out of Belfast on the Upper Newtownards Road, go past the main gates of Stormont and instead take the second entrance on the left hand side, about 200 metres further on.
Sculptures
The grounds contain a number of statues, memorials and other interesting features that have been added over the years. These include:

- The Gleaner
- The Somme Memorial
