Applications for the High Street Scheme closed at midnight on Monday, October 25.
Emails to applicants whose details could not be verified
The Department for the Economy is continuing to issue emails to applicants for the Spend Local scheme whose details cannot be automatically verified.
All documentation for the manual verification process for the High Street Scheme must be provided by midnight on Friday 12 November.
The email from firstname.lastname@example.org is legitimate and not a scam.
The email may arrive into your junk folder. If this has happened, move the email into your inbox folder before you access the link to upload your documents.
The email will ask recipients to upload further information to verify their identity. One piece of information is needed to confirm that you are resident in Northern Ireland and another piece of information is to confirm your date of birth.
A list of acceptable documents is contained within the email. Follow the instructions in the email carefully.
You must use the link in the email to upload your information.
You should not send the requested information to the Spend Local or DfE email mailboxes - any documents sent to these mailboxes will not be processed.
The Department for Economy received just over 1.436 million applications and continues to work at pace to verify these and get cards distributed as soon as possible.
Cards will continue to be issued to successful applicants over the coming weeks.
Card expiry date
All cards will expire on 14 December 2021. You will not be able to use the card after this date.
Any balance remaining on the card after this date will be returned to the Department for the Economy.

If you are having problems with your card
If your card isn’t working or has been lost or stolen contact the automated helpline Customer Services as soon as possible on 02895 313 153. To replace a lost card you will need to know the 16-digit card number.
If you don’t know the card number call the manned Customer Services line on 02895 908 459. You can report a lost or stolen card, block or unblock your card at the client services portal: https://clients.prepaidfinancialservices.com/nistimulus
