Apply for a travel COVID vaccination certificate
If you have received one or both doses of your COVID-19 vaccinations in Northern Ireland, you can apply for a proof of vaccination certificate for international travel.
COVID certificates are available for international travel and domestic use.
Further information on when you need, and how to get, a domestic certificate is available at this link:
For both the travel and domestic certificates, you’re encouraged to download the app and get the certificates, should you wish to show them.
The NI COVID travel certificate is valid for three months from the date of application. Digital certificates will automatically renew a week before they are due to expire.
The QR code and downloadable certificate will permit international travel (where certification is required).
The first process will involve proof of identity. You can register your identity at the link below.

If your application is not processed automatically the NI COVID Certification Service will email you directly when your application has been successfully processed, telling you when you can download your certificate online or via the COVIDCertNI app.
If you have received an email confirming your COVID-19 vaccination document is ready you can view your certificate in the app or you can log in and access your certificate at this link:
Request a paper certificate
If you cannot apply online, you can request a paper version using the telephone service 0300 200 7814, available Monday to Sunday from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.
This is an application support line. Call handlers will not be able to provide advice on entry requirements to specific destinations or check the detail of your vaccination records.
This process will take longer than the digital process and you will be required to verify your identity in person by presenting documents at an appointed time and location.
Once identity checks have been completed it may take up to 10 working days for the printed certificate to arrive.
Apply for an EU COVID certificate
Northern Ireland residents who have a valid Irish passport and have received their vaccinations in NI can apply for an EU COVID certificate using the instructions in the link below.
Applicants will need the NI COVID certificate to be able to upload the QR code requested as part of this application process.
Rules on travel
