HERoNI Lecture: Salt of the Earth

PRONI is delighted to host the latest lecture in the Historic Environment Record of Northern Ireland (HERoNI) series. Timandra Nichols, will talk about the Salters’ Company. It will take place at PRONI on Friday 7 February 2020 at 1.00 pm.

The Salters Company

This talk will outline the 600-year old history of the Salters’ Company, a livery company in the City of London and 9th in order of precedence of the 110 livery companies.

It will explore ancient traditions, the royal charters, the halls that have been occupied and what happened to them and finish with the relevance of the company today, its fellowship and philanthropy.

It will include reference to the relationship with the Manor of Sal in particular Magherafelt and Salterstown.
