Details of the scam
A member of the public recently attempted to buy a watch from a male from Dungannon for £60.
The member of the public transferred the money directly into the criminals bank account.
The watch never arrived and was posted up for sale again a few days later.
What should you do
To avoid being a victim of a scam:
- be careful when transferring money directly to people's bank accounts
- make use of secure payment methods such a PayPal
- pay attention to seller reviews: they often tell an accurate story
