Components inspected during a single vehicle approval

Most of the items inspected in the Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) scheme are those that are tested when manufacturers apply for type-approval of mass-produced vehicles.

The following table lists the items inspected for the two levels of SVA. All the items for standard SVA are checked during the SVA test. However, items for enhanced SVA cannot be checked during the SVA test, you will have to produce documentary evidence of compliance as explained below.

Enhanced Single Vehicle Approval Scheme

The Enhanced Single Approval (ESVA) Scheme, which is based on the basic SVA requirement, applies tighter technical standards to commercial imports on non-EU-type-approved cars and Light Goods Vehicles (LGV), to ensure they meet the same environmental, basic safety and security requirements as their type approved counterparts.
