Rail Travel
Rail services within Northern Ireland are provided by Northern Ireland Railways.
Rail services operate between some of the main towns and cities, including:
- Bangor
- Carrickfergus
- Larne
- Derry/Londonderry
- Newry
- Coleraine
- Ballymena
- Antrim
- Portrush
- Belfast
Northern Ireland Railways and Iarnród Éireann operate a joint Enterprise service which operates between Belfast and Dublin.

Concessionary fares
Concessionary fares are available for older people and people with disabilities for both bus and rail services who live in Northern Ireland. If you have a concessionary fare pass from any other countries, it will not work here. Senior citizens who live in the Republic of Ireland can obtain all Ireland free travel at the age of 66.

Accessibility of stations
Translink has produced an Access Guide which highlights the current service levels for disabled people and older people who find it difficult using public transport. This guide includes information on the accessibility of railway stations and halts on the Northern Ireland Railway network.
