You can get details below of the cost of fares when using the Strangford Lough ferry. The ferry operates between Portaferry and Strangford in County Down.

Single and return tickets

Single and return tickets are available:

  • on deck (cash or cheque only)
  • from the Ferry Terminal (credit card only) during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm)

20 journey ticket books

  • Purchase Strangford ferry tickets online
  • by telephone (028 4488 1637) during Ferry Terminal opening hours (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm)
  • in person from the Ferry Terminal during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm)

Concessionary vehicle fare is available on presentation of a Blue Badge held by either the driver or a passenger. The fare includes the vehicle and one person. Any other persons in the vehicle will be charged at the appropriate passenger rate.

Occupants of a vehicle, other than a driver, will be charged at the appropriate passenger rate.

Please note that the driver of a vehicle is always included within the charge for the vehicle. This means that the concessions listed below do not relate to drivers of vehicles.

  • the Ferry Terminal in Strangford during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm)
  • Rathkeltair House, Downpatrick, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
  • Purchase Strangford ferry tickets online

Vouchers removed from the book will be deemed invalid.

Under Article 101 of The Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993, it is an offence to intentionally travel without paying the appropriate fare.

All passengers and cargo are carried subject to the Conditions of Carriage, available on request from Strangford Lough Ferry Terminal.
