Pay your rates by Direct Debit

- will continue each year, without further action from you, once it has been set up for your rate account
How to set up a Direct Debit
You can set up a Direct Debit in a number of ways.
You can complete and return the Direct Debit form in the link below. This is a writeable document, which means that you can complete on screen, print and send to the LPS freepost address shown on the form. Alternatively, you can save the document to your desktop, complete the form and send as an attachment to LPS Direct Debit section:

You can complete and return the form which is attached to your bill, or you can call the Land & Property Services (LPS) helpline with your bank or building society details and they will do the rest for you. Contact details are as follows:

Instalments
You can choose to pay your rate bill by Direct Debit in instalments. This means that you can spread your rate bill over a maximum of ten instalments in any rating year. When you apply to pay by instalments, you can choose which date of the month you want your Direct Debit to be taken from your bank, the 7th, 15th or 28th of each month.
Please note that if you miss Direct Debit payments for two consecutive months, the facility may be withdrawn and you will have to make alternative payment arrangements.
Single payment
If you pay your rate bill in full, in one single payment, on or before the discount date, you will be guaranteed a four per cent discount.
Once you have set up your Direct Debit for single payment, your payment will be taken automatically every year and you will be guaranteed a discount.
Direct Debit guarantee
If you have chosen to pay your rates by Direct Debit, your bill will show when each payment is due and will include a copy of the Direct Debit guarantee. This is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits. More information can be found in the link below:
