Finding out about local sports facilities
Everybody should have the opportunity to get involved in sport. There are many organisations and groups dedicated to a particular sport. And, many are involved in supporting people with disabilities.
Finding out about local sports facilities
Your local council's leisure department should have details about facilities, sports clubs and other initiatives in your area.
Many local councils work in partnership with national, regional and local sports organisations to provide opportunities for people of all ages to participate and develop their skills. Your local library should also be a good source of information.
Some councils provide leisure passes to residents. Pass holders can use specified facilities at a discounted rate.
Disability Sports NI
Disability Sports NI (DSNI) is Northern Ireland's main disability sports organisation and is representative of the vast majority of Northern Ireland's disability sports clubs and organisations.
Established in 1997 to tackle the under representation of people with disabilities in sport, the organisation works to promote equality of opportunity for people with disabilities to take part in and enjoy sport and physical activity at a level of their choice.
