MOT lane closures

DVA MOT test centres are currently undergoing a refresh programme. This work will be carried out on a rolling basis and will continue until July 2012.

Closure of vehicle test lanes

In order to facilitate this work there will be some closure of vehicle test lanes. The programme of work has been designed to minimise impact on waiting times although there will be some impact experienced for all vehicle types.

To maximise choice and flexibility customers are urged to book their MOT tests as soon as possible after the reminder letter is received, which is sent seven weeks before the test is due. Vehicles can be tested up to 28 days before the expiry of the current test certificate without affecting the expiry date for the following year.

Waiting times vary between centres and it is often the case that tests can be secured more quickly at an alternative centre to the one customers normally use.

Customers should note that the current test process will not change.

The current schedule of closures is shown below and will be subject to ongoing review to minimise impact on service delivery.
