List of companies who receive information
The law requires Driver & Vehicle Agency (DVA) to protect the privacy of individual motorists and to ensure that personal data is used fairly and lawfully. However, whilst the vehicle register is not an open record, there are a limited range of circumstances in which data can be used properly for other purposes.
The provisions governing the release of information from the vehicle register are long established and pre-date the existence of the DVA.
