Personal import - list of acceptable documentation
In order to prove that a vehicle is a Personal Import the keeper must provide evidence that they have:
lived outside the United Kingdom for at least 12 months, for example:
- utility bill (electricity, telephone, gas)
- rent book
- Bank or Building Society statement
- notification of tax coding
- C&E 386 or C&E 388 (for Non-EU Countries)
and
been in possession of their vehicle outside the United Kingdom for at least six months. To prove six months possession one or more of the following must be shown:
- vehicle registration document
- vehicle licensing reminder
- other documents showing vehicle particulars may be submitted for consideration.
