Sports: Angling to Cycling

Organised sport takes place throughout Northern Ireland. You can find out how to get involved by contacting your local club, or the sports governing body, which is the organisation that manages the sport you are interested in.

Angling

Archery

The Northern Ireland Archery Society is the governing body for Archery in Northern Ireland. There are generally three different types of Archery, Target Archery, Field Archery and Clout Archery. For more information visit the website of the Northern Ireland Archery Society.

Athletics

Athletics is organised by Athletics Northern Ireland. There are clubs which cater for track and field, cross-country, road running and fell running, for those aged 11 and upwards.

Badminton

Badminton is organised by the Ulster branch of Badminton Ireland.

Basketball

Basketball is administered by Basketball NI. There are a number of clubs in Northern Ireland.

Billiards and Snooker

Billiards and Snooker are organised by the Northern Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association. Events take place throughout Northern Ireland.

Bowling

Indoor Bowling - Women

The Irish Women's Indoor Bowling Association oversees this discipline of this sport in Northern Ireland.

Outdoor Bowling - Men

This sport is organised in Northern Ireland by the Irish Bowling Association.

Cricket Ireland is the governing body for the sport of Cricket.

Cycling

Cycling is organised through Cycling Ulster. Road racing, touring, cyclo-cross, mountain biking and track cycling events take place throughout the year and there are cycling clubs in most areas. Events cater for a range of ages and abilities from beginners through to elites.
