Brown trout

Achork and Meenamen contain good stocks of brown trout supplemented by takeable brown trout. Fish respond well to nymphs and small dark patterned wet or dry flies.

These lakes are considered ideal for family outings as there is beautiful scenery and forest walks. Picnic areas are scattered throughout the forest.

Car parks are at the water’s edge at Glencreawan and Meenameen. There is a 40 metre walk along the forest path to the shore from the carpark at Achork.
