Angling at Portavoe Reservoir
This small and very attractive reservoir is off the coast road between Donaghadee and Bangor. Regular stocking of takeable trout ensures good fishing at this popular location.

Disabled facilities
A special facility for wheelchairs is available. A tarmac car park for disabled permit holders with a level tarmac path for 100 metres and six fishing stands suitable for wheelchairs is provided.
The remainder of the reservoir is accessible to those with slight walking difficulties but gradients, space and ground conditions do not allow safe wheelchair access.

Parking spaces at Portavoe and vehicle access to this car parking area are restricted to DCAL Disabled Permit and Licence holders.
Keys are allocated, on a first come first served basis, to anglers in receipt of a Concessionary Disabled Licence and Permit.
You must state the following in applying for a key:

- Address
- Telephone contact number
- Disabled Licence Number and Permit Number

From Belfast, take the A2 through Holywood towards Bangor. Join the Bangor Ring Road, turning right towards Donaghadee and continue on the Ring Road as far as the Groomsport roundabout (fifth and last roundabout). Turn right towards Donaghadee on the A2. The reservoir entrance is about 4 km along this road. Car-parking is available for disabled anglers only.
Cars may be parked on the hard shoulder of the A2, but are not allowed into the waterworks grounds. The entrance to the reservoir must not be blocked.
