River Bush - Day Ticket information

When conditions are right, high quality salmon angling is available on four stretches of the river - the New, Town, Leap and Dundarave sections - which are all situated within walking distance of Bushmills town. These beats give the best sport possible and cater for various fishing methods.

Licence, permit and day tickets

A DCAL game rod licence is required along with your DCAL permit or day ticket to fish the four special angling beats, the New, Town, Leap and Dundarave beats. There is a special reduction in the price of any type of angling day ticket on the River Bush for anglers that have purchased any current DCAL game angling permit.

Anglers can purchase their River Bush day tickets by visiting the angling office at the River Bush Salmon Station which is open from Monday to Thursday from 10am to 4pm (closed from 1pm to 2pm for lunch) and Friday from 10am to 1pm.

Anglers can search which dates, times and stretches are available prior to their purchase via the online search system and then purchase the appropriate day tickets

The remainder of the upstream area of the River Bush can be fished with a DCAL game rod licence and permit. It offers reasonable salmon angling from July to the end of the season with good trout fishing available throughout most of the season.
