Notice of Marriage

£20 per notice form - separate notice forms are required for each person.

Civil marriage in a Registrar's Office

There may be extra charges made by the local authority if a large marriage room is required.

Certified copy of a marriage registration

£14.00

If obtained at time of Registration, a certified copy will cost £8.00.

Objections

An objection to a marriage may be lodged with the Registrar at any time between the marriage notice being submitted and the marriage taking place. Please contact the Registrar for further guidance.

Penalty for making a false statement

A person who makes a false statement for the purpose of getting married or preventing a marriage, is guilty of perjury and may be liable to prosecution.
