Consultation on upper age limit for jury service

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking your views on whether the upper age limit for jury service should be amended or abolished.

The consultation paper invites views on three main questions:

  • should there be an upper age limit for jury service?
  • if so, at what age should an upper age limit be set?
  • should there be an age-related right to excusal?

Work Capability Assessment - An Informal Consultation on Accounting for the Effects of Cancer Treatments

This informal Consultation Document was issued by the Department for Work and Pensions on 16 December 2011. The paper sets out proposals to change the Work Capability Assessment with a view to ensuring a substantial increase in the number of cancer patients who receive unconditional support while they are receiving treatment.

Consultation on proposals to close Hearing Centres at Bangor, Larne, Limavady, Magherafelt and Strabane courthouses

The Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service launched a consultation on 9 December 2012 on proposals for the permanent closure of five Hearing Centres. The consultation paper seeks views on proposals for the permanent closure of the Hearing Centres and for the transfer of court business to alternative venues.
