Whatever stage you are at in your Career you can always benefit from gaining extra skills, knowledge and experience. Training affords you the opportunity to do just that.
Options available
There are various different training routes available and your own specific circumstances will determine what programmes are open to you and which ones are most suitable. View the options below and talk to a Careers Adviser if you feel you need some advice and guidance.
Training for Success
This programme is for 16-18 years olds (for those requiring additional support, training may be available up to 24 years of age).
Training for Success is all about giving you the tools and the confidence you need toget ready to find work. It focuses on the extra learning you need. Once you gain recognised skills and qualifications you are ready to move to the next level.
Whilst in training you will get help to prepare for the world of work.

ApprenticeshipsNI
This programme is open to all ages. In order to enter ApprenticeshipsNI you will need to find a job in your chosen career area and you may have to satisfy the entry criteria set down by the employer. This could be GCSEs or equivalent.
Whilst doing an apprenticeship you will work towards NVQs at Level 2 or Level 3 and technical certificates.

A personalised service tailored to individual need which will help people to move into and remain in work For specific information talk to your Personal Adviser in your local Jobs and benefits office or to your local careers adviser.
Graduate Programmes
There are various graduate programmes in Northern Ireland sponsored by government. These are designed to improve graduates employability skills by offering periods of work based learning. Talk to your local Careers adviser to identify which programmes may be suitable for you.
The Disability Employment Service (DES)
This service provides guidance, training, assessment and placing services for people with disabilities who wish to obtain or retain employment. DES services are provided through a network of JobCentres across Northern Ireland. It also offers a range of practical and financial help to employers recruiting and retaining disabled employees.
Prince's Trust
The Prince’s Trust is a UK charity which provides practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance to help 14 to 30 year olds realise their potential and change their lives. They focus on those who've struggled at school, been in care, been in trouble with the law, or are long-term unemployed. Bridge to Employment
Bridge to Employment is a pre-employment training programme that helps 18+ unemployed people get jobs whatever their experience of work.
