Get a life - Get active

Get a life - Get active logo 'Get a life, get active' is a physical activity campaign aimed at young people and their parents. Developed by the Public Health Agency, the public information campaign aims to encourage primary school children to get active for at least 60 minutes a day.

It all adds up

Taking enough physical activity (at least 30 minutes most days of the week for adults and 60 minutes every day for kids) is crucial for good health and well-being, but most of us aren’t nearly active enough.

Physical activity is especially important for children if they are to grow into healthy adults. Getting active now will help them develop healthy habits that will benefit them throughout their lives

In Northern Ireland, around one in four girls and one in six boys in Primary One are overweight or obese. Many of these children are not as active as they should be and do not have a healthy, balanced diet.

The 'it all adds up' campaign provides the information and encouragement you need to increase you and your family’s level of physical activity to help protect your health both now and in the future.
