The UK Fuel Economy Label lets you easily compare the carbon dioxide emissions, fuel costs and vehicle tax payable for different cars. Using it can help you choose a vehicle that gives off fewer emissions and is more fuel efficient. You can find it on both new and used cars.
The Uk Fuel Econemy label for new cars shows:
The lower the carbon dioxide emissions are, the lower the vehicle tax will be. Vehicles are rated from A (best) to M (worst).
You can see the full abel and read about it on the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership website.

There is also a UK Fuel Economy Label for used cars. It is nearly identical to the new car label and shows a car’s carbon dioxide emissions, fuel costs and vehicle tax. The only difference is a new section that explains how the fuel consumption figure (how much fuel the car uses) is worked out.
The fuel consumption figure is taken from tests on the vehicle when it was new, so it doesn’t tell you the car’s current fuel consumption. However, it helps you compare the fuel efficiency of different vehicles of a similar age and condition.
