Leaders for Tomorrow

The Department for Employment and Learning annually funds up to 10 participants from the private sector in Northern Ireland to take part in the prestigious Leaders for Tomorrow programme.

Participants (middle to senior managers), spend 3 weeks in Boston USA, undertaking 2 weeks of academic study at Harvard University and 1 week of seminars and visits in the Boston area.

NI private sector participants

Private sector managers need to possess

  • vision: and
  • strategic leadership capability to enable them to operate effectively beyond local boundaries.

'Leaders for Tomorrow' addresses these requirements in an intensive, highly participative  3 week programme. Harvard's highly acclaimed Kennedy School of Government provides the setting for the academic content of the programme.

Programme benefits

Leaders for Tomorrow will:

  • provide middle to senior managers with a unique opportunity to enhance their leadership and management skills in an American context; and
  • develop professional relationships, share ideas and find innovative solutions to common problems.

Selection takes place during the Autumn for departure to Boston in January.
