If you’re in hardship and need extra financial support, universities and colleges in Northern Ireland can provide it through their Support Funds
In Northern Ireland at the University of Ulster if you began, after 1st September 1998, or are planning a degree course in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiography, speech and language therapy, podiatry or dietetics you will have different funding arrangements from other higher education students
If you’re a full-time student who started your course in or after September 2004 but before September 2006, you may be entitled to a Higher Education Grant of up to £1,000 a year - and also a grant to help with your tuition fees
Students doing a postgraduate course of Initial Teacher Training (such as a PGCE) may be able to get a training bursary on top of Student Loans and grants
Students who want to apply for the Childcare Grant must use certain types of childcare to qualify
If you’re a full-time higher education student with dependent children, you may be able to get extra financial help
