Student finance forms and guides 2013/2014

As well as applying online, you can apply for student finance by completing a paper form. Students and their parents, husbands, wives and partners can download forms and guidance notes for the academic year 2013/2014.

Returning your completed forms

You should send your completed forms to your local Student Finance NI office.

Student loans: a guide to terms and conditions 2013/2014

This guide applies to students who take out government loans during the academic year 2013/2014 to support their study at higher-education institutions in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It explains what you are committing yourself to when you take out a loan, and it is important that you carefully read and understand this information.

Applying for support

Students wishing to apply for support should complete the following forms:

New Students

We recommend that new students applying for support in 2013/2014 submit their passport as proof of identity. Those students who are not passport holders can submit their Birth or Adoption Certificate, but must also complete and return the Birth/Adoption Certificate Declaration form.

This form contains two separate declarations. The Applicant's Declaration of Identity must be signed by the student to confirm their identity. The Identity Confirmation Form is to verify your identity and must be completed by a person of good standing in the community who has known you for at least two years.

Continuing students

These forms are for students who have already applied for support and now wish to amend either the amount of Maintenance Loan or Tuition Fee Loan they requested:

Part-time students

Part-time application forms and guides for academic year 2013/14 will be available from July / August 2013.

Disabled Students' Allowances

If you have completed or are completing your Application for Student Finance and you also want to apply for Disabled Students' Allowances, you should complete the slimline version of the DSA1 form.

If you are applying for Disabled Students' Allowances only, or if you are a part-time student, a post graduate student or if you are studying your course by distance learning you must complete the full version of the DSA1 form.
