ApprenticeshipsNI allows you to employ those who have chosen to make a career in your business area. ApprenticeshipsNI offers a range of both professional and technical training opportunities and your apprentice(s) gains industry-led qualifications in the skills that you and Northern Ireland business requires.

ApprenticeshipsNI helps you train your apprentice(s) so they grow with your business. Unlike other training courses, ApprenticeshipsNI ensures that they have the practical skills to do the job. With on-the-job training you can make sure they attain the knowledge and skills that works best for your company.

Did you know:

  • there are in excess of 100 apprenticeship frameworks designed to meet the needs of Northern Ireland business
  • that the Department for Employment and Learning pay full costs of directed training for the duration of the apprenticeship
  • employer incentives are available from £500 to £1,500 - the level depending on the occupational area and when the apprentice has achieved the full framework
  • it is widely held that employers can use apprenticeship programmes to identify the leaders and the managers of the future
  • there are over 10,000 apprentices in training in Northern Ireland.

ApprenticeshipsNI has been modelled with employers and apprentices in mind. Apprenticeship Frameworks are designed by Sector Skills Councils and Industry Representative Bodies. This ensures that training is always relevant and tailored to the needs of your sector by people who genuinely understand what you do.

From September 2008 all-age apprenticeships are available on a full-framework basis to both existing and newly recruited employees.
