Apply for an exclusion from empty property rates
From 1 October 2011, empty property rates are payable on all domestic properties with a rateable capital value of £20,000 or more, unless one of the approved exclusions apply.
How to use this service
Where the property is considered as empty (unoccupied, unfurnished and not used for storage) for rating purposes, there are a number of automatic and application based exclusions that apply. Automatic exclusions and successful applications will be granted 100 per cent relief.

To apply for an exclusion you must provide evidence that you or the property meet the criteria. To apply, please complete and return the form in the link below, along with the necessary evidence.The form is writeable, which means that you can either print the necessary details and then print it off, or download the form first and complete it. The completed forms should then be returned to the address shown at the bottom of the form:
